This week I want to start off with a verse, “Make no friendship with a man given to anger, nor go with a wrathful man, lest you learn his ways and entangle yourself in a snare.” Proverbs 22:24-25 This Bible verse is not saying if your boss or teacher gets mad that you quit or disrespect them. This is talking about your friends who are the ones that influence you the most in your life. They may also be the ones who stick with you through the valleys. A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24 This verse is talking about a good friend who does not always cut you down or get mad at you and in that way is closer than a brother. Would that friend stick with you if you lost everything? That is something to think about would your inner circle stick with you or would your brother? Who is in your inner circle? You should be careful who you let into your inner circle. You should not have people who are not saved in your inner circle. It’s fine to have them in your outer circles because, how else are they going to see the light of Jesus? Jesus’s inner circle was John, Peter, and James who saw Jesus closer than any of the other disciples. So this week, let’s think about what kind of friends we have and would they stick with us?
