Miracles we miss

Miracles we miss with a rose

This week I want to start off with some verses, “When evening came, His disciples went down to the sea, got into a boat, and started across the sea to Capernaum. It was now dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them. The sea became rough because a strong wind was blowing. When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat, and they were frightened. But He said to them, “It is I; do not be afraid.” Then they were glad to take Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going.” ‭‭John‬ ‭6:16-21‬

This is such a well known passage, Jesus walking on water, which you think would have been the most amazing miracle in this passage, but I think there is a miracle that is even bigger that is being overlooked. It is in verse 21 and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going. I mean teleportation is really amazing and this is not the only time in the Bible in which someone was moved from one place to another in the blink of an eye, but no one else but God has ever accomplished this. But that is not why I am pointing out this lesser known miracle in this passage. You see I believe that our God is active and alive in our world today. I do not believe He is just up in heaven looking down. I believe He moves among us, maybe not in the same way as He did in Jesus’s day. But in all the things that happen in our lives I think if we stood still and looked and listened we would see God moving and see the miracles that we miss in our everyday lives.

I think when we look at Jesus’s life we have to make up our minds on what we believe about Him. He died for you! So after hearing about Jesus and what He did in this passage, you have to decide what you will believe about Jesus, will you trust Him as your Lord and Savior, will you choose to be indecisive, or will you say I will do it tomorrow because we are not promised tomorrow. You can choose to see the miracle that is, God loved us so much that He sent His one only Son to die on the cross for us. So right now if you’re ready to call Jesus your Savior all you have to do is to admit that you are a sinner, believe that He died on the cross for your sins, and confess Him as Lord of your life.

So this week I want you to know that Jesus loves you and that He is alive and active today in our everyday lives. Also that if we stay still and look and listen we will see and feel Him moving in our everyday lives. And this week if you are a christian I want you to look back over the last couple months and see all the miracles you missed because you were too busy doing other things or could not see them any other way but by looking back with God’s help.
