The Relationship you were made for

This week I want to start off with some verse,“In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us. By this we know that we abide in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world. Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment, because as he is so also are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. We love because he first loved us.” ‭‭1 John‬ ‭4:10-19‬

This weekend is all about love and relationships, but not a lot of us think about our relationship with God, we focus on other relationships. We neglect the most important relationship we will ever have, a relationship with God, our Creator and Savior. This relationship is more than you could ever have with anyone else, it is what you were created for. He can love you more than anyone else because He is love. When you have a relationship with God, your relationships with others will grow. This week I want to remind you that God is the God of love and He loves you. He gave up part of Himself to come down here and suffered on the cross, so that one day we could live forever with Him. So this Valentine’s day what could be better than to start a relationship with your Savior, a relationship that will last forever. The whole reason you were created is in fact and the whole reason the human race was created is to know Him and to have the free will to choose God and to willingly come to Him. Not because we have to, but because we want to come to Him to know Him as are Lord and Savior.

So this week I want to encourage you to come to know Him as your Lord and Savior. It is a free gift that God gave to us, not so we could escape hell, but so we can be in a relationship with Him forever. All you have to do to is accept the free gift of salvation by admitting that you are a sinner; sin is anything that was not in God’s original plan for His world and that saddens the heart of God; and believe that He sent His only begotten Son to die on Calvary’s Hill for your sins, bridging the gap between mankind and God forever, and confess Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior of your life. Also this week I want to encourage you, if you are a Christian, that this week can be the week that you grow closer to Him than you have ever been, be who He made you to be and look at Him differently because He made you and called you to Him.
