This week I want to start off with a verse O give thanks unto the Lord ; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever. O give thanks unto the God of gods: for his mercy endureth for ever. O give thanks to the Lord of lords: for his mercy endureth for ever. Psalms 136:1-3 This week in America it is Thanksgiving. This verse says to give thanks to the Lord, and God has given us a lot to be thankful for. He is the one who has given us everything we have. To give those of you who don’t know about the history of American’s Thanksgiving day. The Pilgrims came over on the Mayflower but when they got here they had trouble growing gardens because it was starting to turn winter. About half of the Pilgrims died that winter. In the spring they met an Indian man and he taught them how to farm in America. In the fall they had a feast to thank God for bringing them through the first winter and across the ocean. This year for some of you who have had a rough year and you don’t think there anything to thank God for but if you are breathing there is something to thank God for. So this week, before we start celebrating with our families let’s thank God for all he has done for us. Or if you are not celebrating Thanksgiving this week then thank God anyway.
