This week I want to talk about Peter and his time in jail when he thought he was going to die as James did by the sword just days earlier. Peter was sleeping in the jail chain up between two soldiers. Then the angel came in and said , “get up and get dressed.” It wasn’t that Peter was praying it was that his friends were praying for him and God had a plan for the rest of his life. When God shows up in your darkest moments like when Peter was in jail because Herod Antipus wanted to please the jews by killing the apostles. Some of the people in your life, they’re not trying to kill you, but they are being mean to you and it seems like everyone is putting you down. Its either they are trying to impress someone or get the approval of someone, or they are just hurting people. Levi lusko says ” hurting people hurt people.” Just keep loving them over and over again. The Bible says in Proverbs 25: 22 In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head, and the Lord will reward you. But Jesus also says to love your enemies and do not wish bad on them. In Luke 6:31 Jesus said, “And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them.” So this week as some of us go back to school lets keep this verse in mind.
