The Same Spirit

Let’s start off with some verses, “Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers. And the Spirit of the Lord rushed upon David from that day forward. And Samuel rose up and went to Ramah.”Now the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and a harmful spirit from the Lord tormented him.1 Samuel 16:13-14 Back in the old testament the Spirit of the Lord came and went from people. But in the new testament and in a Christian’s life today the Spirit of the Lord is for all people who believe in Him. The sad part of this verse is that when the Spirit of the Lord moves out of Saul, a new Spirit moved in and torment him. We have the same Spirit that protects, comforts, and guides us through all things. We must realize that the Spirit of the Lord that gave Elijah, Elisha and Samson and others in the Bible  supernatural powers can be the same in a Christian’s life today. He ministers to you when you read the Bible and pray.

You  have the Spirit if you are a Christian. God allows us to have the same Spirit that  Jesus had that enabled Him to do His miracles and cast out demons. If it’s in His will  and we have faith we can do the same miracles that Jesus did in His life. In the United States we are weighed down by Religious baggage and it’s hard for us to have the faith to move a mountain. God has the power to move our baggage but sometimes we don’t want to let go of it. So let’s let Him take our baggage and have faith in Him.
