I was thinking this week about how God gave up His Son to save us ,from our sin. His Son was also apart of himself so he gave up a piece of himself. He so loved the world and you so much he was willing to give up his son and a part of himself. When he asked us to give up a part of who we are or what we think about something or someone, we think He is asking to much from us. This particular verse of scripture relates well with what I am talking about.
Matthew 16:24 24 “Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.” The cross in this verse can mean different things . For some people it can many literal sacrifice, like it means for Meng Lisi and Li Xinheng who were missionaries to China that started a revival to the muslims. They were killed for their faith.in God. For others their cross could be their occupation or other interest. So, if God tells you to deny yourself and take up your cross you should not think how could God ask me to do that, because he gave part of himself up, the least you can do is live your life as a man or woman living his purpose for your life .
